Migrate from Airtable

The Airtable alternative 20,000+ bases have migrated to.

Bring your tables, fields, links, views and records across in a few minutes. Then keep building with NocoAI, and stop paying per seat for people who only read.

How it works

Three steps, and the middle one is automatic.

  1. 1

    Paste your Airtable token

Create a personal access token in Airtable, paste it into NocoDB, and pick the bases you want. Nothing is copied until you choose.

  2. 2

    We map your schema

The importer reads your tables, field types, links, formulas, attachments and views, and translates each one to its NocoDB equivalent.

  3. 3

    Check it, then carry on

Review the imported base, adjust any formulas that need it, and pick up where you left off, with your row limits gone.

What comes across

Your base arrives whole.

The importer reads your schema as well as your rows, so links between tables and views arrive intact rather than as a pile of CSVs.

  • Tables and all records
  • Field types, including single and multi select
  • Links between tables
  • Most formulas, mapped to NocoDB syntax
  • Attachments and file fields
  • Grid, kanban, gallery, form and calendar views
Airtable vs NocoDB

Why teams don't go back.

The honest version: Airtable is a good product. These are the specific things people tell us they moved for.

Questions

Before you migrate from Airtable.

Nothing changes on the Airtable side

Minutes for a typical base. Very large bases with many attachments take longer, and the import runs in the background, so you don't have to sit and watch it.

A small number of Airtable formula functions have no direct NocoDB equivalent and need a manual adjustment. Interfaces and automations don't transfer. You rebuild those, and NocoAI does it from a description of what they did.

Yes. The import is a copy, so nothing changes on the Airtable side. Teams commonly run both for a week before switching over.

Repoint them at the NocoDB REST API, which is generated for every table. If you were using Airtable's API, the concepts map closely.

Your plan's record limit applies. Self-hosted NocoDB has no record or seat limit at all, which is why some teams land there directly.
After the import

Describe the parts that didn't transfer.

Airtable interfaces and automations don't come across. Tell NocoAI what they did and it rebuilds them on your imported base.

So, what do you want to build?

One sentence is enough to start. Free, no credit card, and the base it builds is yours to keep.
